Spybeetle is name of the character that I worked on when I had my company in the UK--re-Animate Educational Software. Towards the end of my time in London, a couple of co-workers, Barry and Seth, and I were wanting to create a game/cartoon site. I came up with Battlebeetle! Barry still owns the domain, so I went and picked up Spybeetle--still fits the character(having lots of cool spy gadgets that come out of his shell.
Anyway... this blog is a result of my 'moment of clarity' as Chris Georgenes--the Keyframer--p

u
t it in his presentation at the Flash Forward Conference in 2006! After meeting and talking with professional Flash animators, I realized that I could and should be doing the same thing. Start up my own company and work for hire doing animation.
After dissolving the company in London in 2001, I returned to America with tons of animation and production experience developing CD-ROMs and a tiny bit in my pockets. I got into the education arena working for K12, Inc. being the Interactive Art Director. And eventually into the web design world being the Art Director for Web Strategy and Operations at AARP Services in Washington DC. So this blog will be documenting my journey to creating my own business--Rice Cooker Studios.
